It provides a means to measure patterns of action potentials within many areas of the nervous systems.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSince the extracellular recording are not neuron specific, we developed two kinds of systems where electrical recording is combined with two different techniques (Optogenetics and photometry). \u003cbr\u003e In both Optogenetics and photometry cells are labelled with specific fluorophores, thus providing insights at the cellular level.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli id=\"tab2\"\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOptogenetics and electrophysiology are combined in this system to allow recordings of synaptic events at a single-cell resolution in a head-fixed configuration. It is designed to activate optogenetic proteins such as channelrhodopsine or to inhibit light-gated ion pumps like halorhodopsin. By adjusting the illumination output power, it is possible to illuminate a single cell or a group of neurons.
